A International Independent Hockey League (IIHL) was an independent on line-subordinate professional hockey league that played in late 2003 before falling apart in 2004.
Based by Mike Killbreath of Flint, Michigan and Dan Monacelli of Novi, Michigan, a league was shaked using misconduct allegations that finally resulted within criminal investigations & the prosecution of an creator. Killbreath claimed a IIHL got an affiliate by having a currently defunct South East Hockey League (SEHL).
A 4-team SEHL ceased play as a result a 2003-04 year by using portions of a league joining the Asheville, North Carolina based Southern Professional Hockey League.
A number one IIHL game was played within December 2003. It featured a Northern Michigan Predators & Lansing Ice Nuts. A Ice Nuts won, Three-Two.

AllSports: International Hockey League to cease operations
International Hockey League dissolution effective date is October 1, 2001. The Manitoba Moose, Milwaukee Admirals, Utah Grizzlies, Grand Rapids Griffins, Chicago Wolves and Houston Aeros will join the American Hockey League. The Detroit Vipers, Orlando, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Kansas City folded operations.
